Groundbreaking for workforce housing community The Met next week

BRADENTON, FL – Groundbreaking for The Met, a $20-million project that will offer 199 units of workforce housing, is planned for Tuesday, Nov. 2. The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. at 1405 14th St. W.

The Met is being built by Pearl Homes, which promises to create “a new urbanist, workforce community geared towards sustainable, modern living” on the site of the former Manatee Inns. The community will offer studios and one- and two-bedroom units close to Bradenton’s burgeoning downtown and next door to the Village of the Arts, the City’s live-work art community.

Pearl Homes says it will pursue LEED certifications, and the community will utilize solar panels and on-site battery storage technology.

The Met is expected to be completed next summer.
