According to the Holmes Beach Police Department, officers were dispatched to 127 50th St. at around 10 p.m. in response to a noise violation this week.

Police cited the renter for the violation and remained outside the residence to ensure the volume was reduced, but it was not so a second citation was issued.

While remaining nearby, officers heard loud yelling, a loud crash and female screaming, according to HBPD.

Officers then went to investigate a possible injury and were let into the residence where they

began to temporarily detain people in order to sort out the confusion.

Police say during the course of that investigation, Justin Ganser, a 23-year-old Pennsylvania resident was one of the persons detained, but kicked one of the officers in the chest while handcuffed. The officer had the wind knocked out of him, but was otherwise uninjured. Ganser was then arrested and placed into a patrol car.

Ganser was booked into the Manatee County jail on charges of battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence. He was released the same day after posting bonds totaling $3,000.

Verbal abuse of woman leads to drug bust, other crimes

An 18-year-old Bradenton man is facing multiple felonies after pulling a gun on a man at an apartment complex at 4147 Lake Bayshore Drive on March 10.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, David Gonzalez had verbally abused an elderly woman the day prior. Gonzalez was spotted by the woman’s son the following day and was asked if he enjoyed cursing out an elderly woman, at which time deputies say Gonzalez challenged the victim to a fight.

The victim agreed to fight Gonzalez, at which time deputies say Gonzalez pulled out a gun and pointed it at the victim’s face before fleeing the area.

Deputies were able to eventually identify Gonzalez as the suspect and discovered he was in a nearby apartment.

After several attempts to get Gonzalez to exit the apartment, he was eventually taken into custody.

According to the arrest report, deputies located a firearm, ammunition, six pounds of marijuana, a pound of mushrooms, almost $19,000 in cash and various items linked to the sale of drugs.

Gonzalez was booked into the Manatee County jail on charges of aggravated assault and distribution with the intent to sell. He was released the following day after posting bonds totaling $100,000.

Roofers beat, rob homeowner

Three men working on a homeowner’s roof were arrested on March 10 for beating and robbing the homeowner in the 2200 block of Ninth Avenue West, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

Police say Orin Moses, 34, was the primary aggressor.

According to the arrest report, the victim was discussing the work being performed when Moses began punching him in the face.

The victim fell to the ground, at which time police say Roy Moses and Aiden Bovee jumped in and began kicking the victim multiple times.

Police say the three men then robbed the victim of approximately $700 cash he had on his person.

All three men were located and booked into the Manatee County jail on charges of strong arm robbery. Orin Moses was additionally charged with possession of cocaine.

Orin Moses remains in custody on bonds totaling $26,500. Roy Moses remains in custody on a $25,000 bond. Bovee was released the following day after posting a $10,000 bond.

A 37-year-old Bradenton man is facing felony charges after an argument over a dog’s training habits turned violent, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say Taylor Albright was arrested at around 4:30 a.m. on the morning of March 11.

According to the arrest report, Albright was upset because he felt he was the one having all the responsibility for the dog.

Deputies say the victim had to work in a few hours and just wanted to sleep so she tried to walk away to avoid the argument. According to the report, Albright began choking the victim and hit her in the eye which caused her eye to swell shut.

Albright was booked into the Manatee County jail on felony domestic battery by strangulation charge. He was released the following day after posting a $5,000 bond.

Two cousins were arrested shortly after robbing a Bradenton pawn shop on the afternoon of March 12.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, Jared Sorrentino and Ross Sharp entered the Ca$hop Pawn located at 5620 14th St. W. at around 5:15 p.m.

A store employee was in the back when the pair entered and assumed customers had entered the business so she went out to greet them, and instead was greeted with a gun being pointed at her.

Deputies say the pair made off with about $25,000 in jewelry and other items but were spotted by a deputy who was passing by right about the time the “holdup alarm” was pressed.

Deputies were able to track the pair’s truck back to a residence located at 2807 52nd Ave. Drive W.

According to the report, deputies quickly surrounded the residence and after threats of releasing a K9 into the home, the pair surrendered.

Deputies say Sharp appeared remorseful and was cooperative, explaining the “gun” was a pellet gun. Sharp told deputies he wished to write apology letters to the victim and the court. Deputies noted that Sharp did so.

Both men were booked into the Manatee County jail. Sorrentino remains in custody on a $25,000 bond. Sharp remains in custody on a $50,000 bond and a violation of probation hold.

Another woman beater

A 59-year-old Bradenton man is facing felony charges after violently assaulting a woman in the 2400 block of Open Seas CV just after 11 p.m. on March 14.

Deputies say Charles Thomas insulted the victim and when she tried to tell him how hurtful his comment was, assaulted her.

According to the report, Thomas punched the victim several times and placed his hand over her mouth and nose to the point where she could not breathe.

The victim struggled to get away so deputies say Thomas then began suffocating the victim with a pillow.

According to the report, Thomas stopped his assault and left the residence, but returned and slapped the victim and continued to assault her.Thomas was booked into the Manatee County jail on a felony domestic battery charge. He was released on March 17 after posting a $1,500 bond.
