A 72-year-old’s sexual deviance came back to haunt him on Jan. 18 when he was placed in handcuffs in relation to a 9-year-old sexual assault case involving a 7-year-old child.
According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, Henry Soria raped the young girl and threatened that it would get “even worse,” if she was to tell anyone.
The victim recently came forward with the abuse and Soria was booked into the Manatee County jail for sexually assaulting a child.
Soria remains in custody without bond.
Stun gun attack
A 27-year-old Palmetto woman is being charged with battery and burglary of an occupied vehicle after “zapping” another woman 10 times with a stun gun, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say the attack occurred on Jan. 13 around 2 p.m. at 11915 31st St. Terrace E.
According to the arrest report, Yaritza Torres and the victim had argued just prior to the attack.
Deputies say once the fight ended, Torres entered the victim’s vehicle and took her key FOB from her purse.
According to the report, the victim sustained scratches, red marks on her stomach from the stun gun and a bite mark on her hand.
Torres was arrested and booked into the Manatee County jail on Jan. 16. She was released the following day after posting bonds totaling $8,000.
Forced sexual abuse suspect jailed
A 32-year-old man was put behind bars on Jan. 18 stemming from a November sexual abuse crime, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say Francisco Pina sexually abused two minors on separate occasions to include forcing one to expose herself so Pina could inspect her under the guise of checking for hickeys.
According to the arrest report, Pina threatened physical harm to achieve this goal.
Pina was booked into the Manatee County jail on charges of sexual contact with a minor and soliciting a minor to commit a lewd and lascivious act.
He remains in custody on bonds totaling $100,000.
