Canadians are beginning to reject the leftist drivel that their Liberal Prime Minister Mark Carney is spewing. Trump challenged Canada’s unfair trading practices with the United States and Carney responded by courting the Chinese to form an alliance against the US.

Recently, British Columbia, the western Canadian province, held their provincial elections and swept the leftist liberals out of office and gave the conservative party the largest mandate they have had in almost a century. The Conservative Party now holds nearly two-thirds of the parliamentary seats in British Columbia.

The leftist government that was swept out of power attempted to make the election a referendum on Donald Trump. The incumbents constantly referred to Trump in their campaign ads and ignored the sad economic results of their leftist policies.

The Conservative Party candidates ignored foreign policy and focused on their economic platform which called for an income tax cut, increased natural gas production and ending the ridiculous policies the government had enacted that reduced private property protection while ceding land to the indigenous people.

Canada has been plagued by leftist governments (endorsed by the US Democrats) that allow bureaucrats to enact numerous regulations that stifle business innovation and development.

Many Canadians admit that Canada needed Trump to goad Canada out of the economic quagmire that was created by leftist governments. Between 2014 and 2015, business investment in the United States went up by 51%. During the same period, business investment in Canada rose by 4%. (For my Democrat readers: this is very bad) Smart investors do not invest in countries or states that are burdened by over-regulation.

Another embarrassing economic statistic for Canada is the figure of Gross Domestic Product (GPD) per person. Canada’s GDP per person is $55,000. Mississippi’s GDP per person is $56,000. The overall US GDP per person is $90,000. This puts Canada below every American state.

Canada needed a wake-up call on their embarrassingly anemic economic growth that was a result of decades of leftist governments. Trump called them out to the chagrin of American and Florida Democrats. Democrats refuse to criticize any over-regulated countries because that is the way they want to govern.

Finally, parts of Canada are throwing out their version of Democrat office holders. In those areas, the Canadian economy has a chance to thrive without needless bureaucratic regulations.
