The Republican primary for State House District 71 offers a stark contrast in candidates for Republican voters. Jordan Varnadore has been a lifelong resident of Manatee County. He has been married for 14 years and has four children. This alone stands in stark contrast to his opponent.
Unlike his opponent, Varnadore does not have to run from his past because he has always been a conservative Republican and he grew up admiring the Reagan legacy. Varnadore understands the need for balanced budgets in Tallahassee and he realizes that locally our government spending has outpaced our growth. Lowering taxes will improve the lives of the hardworking citizens of our area.
Varnadore believes that our local environment must be protected and as a result he led the fight to stop the cruise ship terminal from being developed in his district.

Jordan lives his family values and will not allow young men to compete in sports against young women. Varnadore also understands that we must continue to implement tort reform because frivolous lawsuits have driven up insurance costs for the citizens of Manatee County.
Jordan has been involved for years in his community where he helped to start fishing tournaments and has been a strong supporter of Palmetto High School.
Jordan Varnadore is a member of the younger generation of Manatee County who will need to lead our residents through the difficult decisions that our community will face.
Varnadore’s opponent is a slip-and-fall attorney who has spent his lifetime suing small businesses in slip-and-fall cases. Melton Little has been a Democrat for most of his adult life. As the Democrat Party Chairman he would mock Ronald Reagan and his conservative values.

For decades, Melton Little has supported Hillary and Obama. He was a supporter of Andrew Gillum in his failed campaign against DeSantis. When Melton Little realized that he could not win as a Democrat, he decided to switch political parties. (He is Manatee County’s Charlie Crist)
In my opinion, the most damning evidence against Melton Little is his suspension from the Florida Bar. Melton was charged with violating the basic principle of ethics by attempting to obtain favor from a judge. All first year law students are taught to avoid giving gifts to judges with whom they have a case. The Florida Bar determined that Melton had ignored this rule and he was suspended from practicing law.
Manatee County needs politicians who have strong moral compasses and who are honest. If these values are important to you, Varnadore is the obvious choice in the Republican Primary for House District 71.
