A Short History Of Israel For Misinformed College Students

So many of our young people have no understanding of history. Their knowledge of history starts in 2005 because that is when the Jonas Brothers started their band. These young people with a historical IQ of less than 75 are easily manipulated by information posted on TikTok and Instagram.

Many of these young people have no knowledge of the Holocaust that Germany unleashed against the Jewish race. This is a brief history of Israel for these history deprived protestors.

From 1939 to 1945, Germany systematically exterminated millions of people for the crime of “being Jewish.” After the Allies defeated the Nazis, world leaders decided that the Jewish people needed a Jewish state where they could live in peace without fears of pogroms.

In 1947 the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution calling for the partition of what we now call Israel. The UN called for the creation of 2 states: one a Jewish state and the other an Arab state.

In 1948 Israel declared itself a state. Jews had lived in this area since biblical times. Once they were recognized as a state, Jewish people from around the world emigrated to Israel. Many of these Jewish people had endured harassment and racism in the countries they left. Most of the Jewish people living in Arab controlled states left for the State of Israel.

In 1948, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon invaded the new state of Israel. Israel survived this onslaught.

19 years later in 1967, Egypt and other Arab states invaded Israel in what is known as the 6 Day War. Israel defeated Egypt, Syria and Jordan and as a result gained the Sinai Peninsula, the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights.

After their defeat, the Arab nations signed the Khartoum Agreement in which they agreed to the 3 NOs: No peace with Israel, No recognition of Israel and No negotiations with Israel.

In 1973, Egypt and Syria attacked Israel in the Yom Kippur War. Again, Israel was able to prevail.

Finally, in 1978, President Jimmy Carter helped broker a peace deal between Egypt and Israel. This was a huge milestone in the Arab world.  Egypt’s President Anwar Sadaat paid dearly for reaching peace with Israel. He was assassinated several years later by Arabs who hated the fact  that he had signed the peace accord.

In 2000, President Clinton brokered a deal between the Palestinians and the Israelis which gave Palestinians control of the West Band and the Gaza Strip.

Over the past quarter century, several Arab countries have come to terms with the idea of normalizing relations with Israel. Many Arab countries, excluding Iran, want peace in the Middle East and resent the fact that the Palestinian leadership continues to thwart any attempts to coexist with Israel.

Hamas receives hundreds of millions of dollars from many countries to help the Palestinian people. Sadly, the leadership of Hamas keeps a large percentage of  these funds for themselves. The leadership of Hamas fears peace. As a result, their actions lead to the miserable conditions the Palestinians must live under.

Recently, Hamas feared that Saudi Arabia would reach a peace accord with Israel. Hamas knew if they attacked Israel and started a war, it would delay any agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia.

Sadly, our university students are not taught the true history of the region. Instead, students receive their news through TikTok and it comes from Russian and Turkey based propagandists. Our failure to stop university professors from teaching our young students a polluted version of history has resulted in marches in our streets where people call for the extermination of Israelis.
