Tales from the Mark Side: Don’t f*ck with my NY pizza

mark.young@manateeherald.com

Like my guns, dems can have my NY style pizza when they pry it from my cold, dead hands.

New York politicians attacking NYC pizza makers marks the final straw.

It’s time to unleash hell.

It is, however, just the latest episode of, “What will these liberal morons do next?”

Apparently some NYC idiot council member was walking down the road and decided all the smoke from pizza places was harming the environment so the city is mandating a scrubber system.

I hear that this will cost small business owners a minimum of $20,000 to install.

As usual, idiot liberals didn’t bother to look into their latest outrage. The overwhelming majority of pizza places in NYC that coal fire their pies use a type of coal that is virtually emission free.

It goes right along with the left not looking ahead with their push for electric vehicles. I saw a report where New York will lose some $67 billion in gas taxes, which of all taxes, actually pays for infrastructure.

So NY plans to implement a “mileage tax,” where people with electric vehicles will be required to have a government tracking system placed on their EVs and be taxed according to how much they drive.

Oh yeah, that sounds like a good idea. I’m sure liberals will eagerly flock to the idea of the government tracking their every move – which they already do with your smart phones.

They also will implement a $23 fee to every driver who drives into the downtown Manhattan area during peak congestion hours.

Honestly, you just can’t make this stuff up and normal folks like us will never understand how the average leftist citizen doesn’t see what their leaders are up to.

Big brother much?

Geezus, how stupid can they be? That’s a rhetorical question so no need to answer.

I don’t really care much about those latter items, however. If New York voters want to be forced to pay for an expensive car, pay additional taxes and have big government tracking them on their way to the fetish store, then that’s on them.

They voted for it, so they own the nightmare to come.

And even though the pizza thing doesn’t really affect me here in Florida, I still take it personal.

Where’s the mafia when you need them? What happened to all these gangster Italians?

Truthfully, I think they all became pizza makers because the legitimate outrage being expressed by all these Italian pizza houses makes me think the city might be in trouble.

They are still pissed from being unnecessarily shut down for way too long over COVID fears. They are literally just beginning to bounce back and the city wants to hit them with a massive fee?

There was one viral video of a pizza owner tossing slices over the iron fence surrounding New York City Hall, shouting that it was time for a Pizza Party in the spirit of the Tea Party.

On a side note, it was interesting to see how secure the border is around NY City Hall.

You really don’t want to piss off New York Italians, but I love to see it. Italians like to mind their business, but definitely don’t like it when someone sticks their nose into that business.

I speak from experience, being a third Italian and having spent my impressionable high school years across the GW Bridge in Fort Lee NJ.

We work hard to keep our tempers in check. You really don’t want to unleash the beast. NYC targeting a business dominated by Italians is just a really bad idea.

So I’m fascinated to see how this will turn out.

The only debate worth having about pizza is whether pineapple belongs on one. The answer is hell no, it does not.

If you want to put fruit on a pizza, move to California where they do those kinds of weird things.

No self respecting pizza lover would ruin one with fruit and no self respecting pizza maker would even allow it. I admit that it’s been awhile since I have been to NY, but in my day if you walked into a NY pizza place and asked for pineapple, be glad you walked out with just a look that can only be described as, “What the f*ck did you just ask me?”

That’s the problem with restaurants outside of NY, to include Manatee County who advertise authentic NY style pizza, and yet offer a pineapple option.

That’s not NY pizza and it’s not even NY “style” pizza. It’s effing west coast pizza, which shouldn’t even be allowed to be called pizza.

It’s not pizza, it’s a saucy fruit roll so just stop already.

So if anyone knows of a true, authentic NY pizza place in Manatee County please do let me know. I’ve tried a few who claim they serve authentic NY pizza but it’s not.

I’m not interested in NY “style” pizza. I’m interested in NY pizza where it’s a thinner crust and the grease flows freely like a stream of golden goodness when you pick it up.

Also, don’t send me to a place that does the perfect NY pizza but allows its customers to destroy it with fruit. I can’t support that kind of sellout behavior.

Liberals have done a lot of stupid things over the past two years in the name of their climate change religion. I pray God is taking notice of how liberals worship false idols and steps in at some point to put an end to the nonsense.

In the meantime, it’s up to us. Stay vigilant my friends. Keep informed and keep sharing our truth because if they come after our pizza, what in the world comes next?
