LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. (May 31, 2022) – Southwest Florida’s premier private homebuilder, Neal Communities, recently donated $5,000 to various community organizations throughout Manatee and Sarasota Counties.
Neal Communities gave $1,000 to Lakewood Ranch High School’s baseball program; $500 (White Season Sponsor) to Venice Vikings football and cheer program; $1,500 (Platinum Sponsor) to the Venice Moose Lodge’s annual Robert C. Anderson Golf Tournament to benefit the Special Olympics; $1,000 to Braden River High School’s Black Pearls Dance Team; and $1,000 to TEDxBradenton to host its event in September.
With a core belief that “Where You Live Matters,” Neal Communities has given more than $7.5 million to local charities throughout Southwest Florida and is committed to the communities where they live, work and build. The latest giving is an example of the philanthropic culture within the hallways of Neal Communities’ Lakewood Ranch headquarters.
“We are dedicated to assisting community organizations with missions that help to make our region a great place to live,” said Pat Neal, founder and chairman of Neal Communities. “We also encourage our employees to get involved in organizations that make a difference.”
Construction Manager Andy Losada said he was happy to learn that Neal Communities supported his 14-year-old daughter, Ava, and the rest of the Black Pearls Dance Team at Braden River High School. Ava had wanted to be on the dance team since she was six years old and was thrilled to learn she made the team after auditioning as a freshman this year, he said.
“It was awesome that Neal Communities sponsored us,” Losada said. The Black Pearls Dance Team relies on community donations to fund its program, which includes performances, competitions and community events throughout the year. Neal Communities’ $1,000 donation will assist the team in obtaining performance costumes.
Shauna Allen, a customer sales representative with Waterscapes Pools & Spa (a company owned by Neal Communities), was thankful that the home builder sponsored her son’s baseball team at Lakewood Ranch High School. Allen’s son, Kaden, was a senior and on the varsity team. The $1,000 donation will help with improvements to the team’s batting cages, Allen said. “My son was on the team for three years. We hadn’t asked Neal Communities until this year to help, and they obliged,” she said. “The coach was super happy.”
Sarah Toedman, a New Home Sales Associate with Neal Communities, sits on a planning committee for a TEDxBradenton event scheduled to take place on September 9, 2022 at the Bishop Museum of Science and Nature. She said she was thrilled to learn that Neal Communities is sponsoring the event for $1,000, which will help offset some of the cost for live streaming and production.
Toedman said that she worked with a TEDx program at Florida State University several years ago, and she was asked to be part of the planning committee for the Bradenton event due to her experience.
“This is the first event in Bradenton for TEDx,” Toedman said. “We’re really excited to have Neal Communities partner with us.”
