Tales from the Mark Side: The Conservative Voice in Manatee County

The left says inflation is good for you. How’s that working out?

I hope everyone had a drama-free Thanksgiving as the biggest turkey of them all enjoyed his lobster at his rich buddy’s house in Nantucket.

Biden didn’t even bother to stop and offer a little comfort to those Wisconsin families suffering through the holidays after some worthless white-hating racist killed six people at a Christmas parade.

Biden was quick to incorrectly label Kyle Rittenhouse a racist but has said nothing about the racial motivation behind the Wisconsin attack. And neither has the media.

I guess it all comes down to the real inconvenient truth for this administration. It’s all misinformation and when that can’t be accomplished, just ignore it altogether just as Biden has done with the origins of COVID.

The ridiculous misinformation campaign currently underway is to convince you that inflation is somehow good for you.

There is an actual argument from the left that says inflation is good for borrowers because the money borrowers pay to lenders is devalued.

Wait, what?

Is someone being serious with that? Is it April 1? Am I on Candid Camera or something?

But they argue in the same breath that when inflation causes higher prices, the demand for credit increases, which benefits lenders.

Contradict yourself much?

How is it a good thing for Americans to be forced into further debt and how is it good for you when you are still paying the same amount of money to lenders while everything else is costing more while you pile up more debt?

I’m no economist, mind you, but I’m not an idiot either.

I also keep hearing the argument that yes, the left understands things are costing more, “But Americans are still buying.”

Well last I checked, Americans still have to put food on the table, toilet paper on the roll, gas in the tank and turn the heat on for winter. Of course we are still buying but to assume we are liking it somehow is, well, just pretty darn stupid for a lack of a better word.

I’ve spent half my life as a wordsmith and this is the first administration that has reduced me to using words like “stupid,” but that’s what it is and is an accurate description.

Fortune magazine did a pair of stories on inflation this year. The first one in July made some of these arguments in trying to convince people inflation is good for the economy, but in November did a story headlined, “Don’t let them tell you inflation is good for the poor. It’s not.”

Well duh. I’m thinking the second story makes more sense but this administration and many of its media allies want to argue that a few hundred dollars extra a month here and there isn’t going to hurt anyone.

Many of this administration’s talking heads have even mocked the American consumer and are now trying to push the blame onto businesses for charging more when it’s been this administration who has caused a 30-year high for inflation.

It’s this administration that has handled the supply chain crisis only slightly better than a monkey trying to build a Lego castle. I take that back, a monkey could have done a better job.

And as stated before, it all comes down to this administration’s energy policy. Biden gave up our energy independence to give control back to foreign suppliers, helped make Russia more energy dominant, and is publicly trying to bankrupt American energy companies.

Raising the price of gas and everything costs more from there and trying to mandate and force Americans to buy $100,000 electric vehicles isn’t going to save America.

The last time this much was forced onto Americans, a shipload of tea was tossed into the Boston Harbor and a bunch of Patriots went to war.

Biden is actually arguing that inflation can be battled by spending more money, using the inflation crisis to push for his Build Back Better plan.

Yep, print more money and push trillions more out into the economy is the argument Biden makes to battle inflation when that is actually the basic foundation for inflation.

It’s like trying to argue that telling an upset wife or girlfriend to calm down is an effective way to resolve an argument. The opposite of what you say creates the new reality.

Don’t ever do that, by the way.

It doesn’t work. And neither does the left’s latest misinformation campaign.

Hang in there Patriots. It’s been a brutal year. As Trump recently said, “Great things are coming.”
