Palmetto, Florida – The Chairman of the Manatee County Port Authority, James Satcher, has signed a letter of support and solidarity for Ashdod Port in Israel. The letter was signed during a recent meeting held by the Manatee County Port Authority.
In the letter, Satcher stated, “SeaPort Manatee stands with the State of Israel and unequivocally condemns the appalling acts of terrorism by Hamas. As friends and partners of Israel and Ashdod Port, SeaPort Manatee declares its unwavering support for Israel in its efforts to defend itself and its people.”
This letter of support comes after SeaPort Manatee and Ashdod Port entered into a letter of intent earlier this year to foster collaborative and innovative projects. Both ports actively work together to explore knowledge-sharing opportunities and aim to strengthen supply chain logistics and identify joint business development prospects.
The Manatee County Port Authority board’s show of solidarity comes at a crucial time following recent terrorist attacks carried out by Hamas in Israel. By standing with Israel, the Port Authority sends a clear message that they are committed to supporting the nation in its
efforts to defend itself and its people against terrorism.
The Manatee County Port Authority board, with Commissioner James Satcher as its chairman, consists of the seven elected Manatee County Commission members, but with distinctively separate officers and financial accountability.
