The day political correctness almost died

Life is full of disappointments.

Some are small and don’t have a significant impact on your life. An example of that is the 2012 movie, “Rock of Ages.”

As someone who essentially grew up in the 80s, I can’t even tell you how excited I was to see that movie, which was for the first time this week.

I plugged my headphones into the TV, poured a cocktail and sat back ready to revel in the music that defines my soul.

In the end, it turned out to be a bad musical that butchered some of my favorite songs and splattered with images that you can’t unsee, such as Tom Cruise in a quasi leather thong and Alec Baldwin kissing a man and trying to sing.

But let’s face it, Alec Baldwin in any scene is hard to watch these days.

It’s people like Baldwin and about half this country that are the biggest disappointment of all as we remember the 21st anniversary of 9-11.

But do we really remember? Not just the day of the attack, but the ensuing days and weeks that followed and ultimately the years long war on terror that resulted from it?

I know many of us do remember, but clearly many do not. And in today’s educational environment, what is being taught about it?

Over the course of the next couple of weeks after the towers fell, everyone flew their American flags. There was no such thing as a democrat or Republican. We were all simply Americans.

Political correctness died that day, albeit for only a little while. Richard Gere was the first to try and resurrect it when he took to the stage to say we should forgive the actions of the terrorists that day. Gere was subsequently booed off the stage.

But I also remember that it was about 17 days before the first signs that political correctness and liberal nonsense was beginning to spread once again.

If you think about it, it was a critical time in the country because it really began to expose the divide between real Americans and the liberal pretenders who sought to push 9-11 into ancient history like it didn’t happen in front of their very eyes.

It was the start of the great separation in America. Those whose who got patriotic goose bumps when George W. Bush stood before the world and said, “You are either with us or against us.” And those who began to speak out against our much-deserved revenge no matter where the journey took us.

It was the exposed crack that continued to widen to those who cheered when Trump said, “America first,” and those who would rather bend the knee to foreign powers.

I don’t know why I counted the days to the first signs of PC sickness after 9-11, but even then I knew true patriotism from the left couldn’t last forever. So it took 17 days for the liberal cockroaches to begin coming out of the shadows and they’ve been swarming ever since.

The liberal virus began to spread wide and far, and before you knew it, we were right back to where we are today with Patriots still being Patriots and liberals renewing their own attacks on this great nation.

It wasn’t long after American began to seek retribution before CNN began making President Bush out to be the bad guy, which eventually led to the media hailing Obama for his global “I’m sorry that we are Americans,” tour.

Liberals have a way of quickly moving past historical events. July Fourth, for them, isn’t about the birth of the greatest nation on earth and the brave Americans who defeated the British empire.

It’s about a day off and fireworks for liberals. They don’t give a single thought about the courage it took to declare our independence and then fight for it.

Memorial Day, for liberals, isn’t about honoring all those Americans who paid the ultimate price for their freedom. It’s about a day off and backyard barbecues.

Anniversaries of Pearl Harbor, the Normandy invasion and so many other significant pieces of the historical American puzzle don’t even exist for liberals. It’s just another day on the calendar that holds no significance for them.

They see the American flag as a symbol of oppression even though a version of that same flag charged across the fields of Gettysburg and Antietam.

They fight to remove “Under God,” from the Pledge of Allegiance, though this nation was founded on Christian principles. Most Americans understand that we owe all we are as the shining light on a hill to our creator.

We are God’s light in a world of darkness, but liberals see that very notion as somehow evil. Oh, the irony of it all.

We pay tribute to that fact in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, two documents that liberals believe are outdated and in need of being rewritten.

“Those who do not remember history are doomed to repeat it,” sum up the liberal mentality. There is no sense of history in the liberal mind so they continue to make the same mistakes over and over again and today’s administration is no different.

More than a dozen people on the terrorist watchlist have crossed an open southern border. So how many known terrorists have crossed unseen?

How can liberals call themselves Americans when, in fact, they do not meet any criteria of being an American other than a birthright?

It’s why Conservatives are the ones who believe in immigration because those who choose the legal path make some of the best Americans. And I guarantee you that legal immigrants know more about this country than 99 percent of liberals because they had to learn our history to become an American citizen.

And nothing makes me cringe more when these liberals have the audacity to refer to themselves as patriots. No, they are not patriots. No, they are not even Americans because they don’t have what it takes. They don’t have the understanding of what it means to be American. They don’t have the knowledge.

It’s not rhetoric. It’s a fact.

And it’s exactly why we must stay vigilant, must stay aware and must stay informed.

We will jump back into the local political scene very soon, my fellow Patriots. I am working out some facts vs. fiction on a couple of races and am not quite there yet.

Until then, God bless America, God bless our real Patriots and may God bless this critical fight we are in to save and protect the United the States of America from our internal enemies.
