After all, a save role opens up whenever one closer moves on. The Seattle Mariners were again in the middle of an odd transaction on Thursday as, just days after sending Kendall Graveman to the Houston Astros, they dealt for Tampa Bay Rays RHP Diego Castillo. Those who added Mariners RHP Paul Sewald to rosters may still get strong relief work, but it’s now safe to assume that Castillo gets the saves.
