Chargois was traded from the Mariners to the Rays along with Austin Shenton on Thursday, in exchange for Diego Castillo, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Chargois has been a key member of the Mariners bullpen to this point in the campaign. He’s maintained a 3.00 ERA and 0.97 WHIP with 29 strikeouts across 30 innings while also tallying nine holds. Though Chargois has zero career saves, the Rays’ bullpen usage is unpredictable, so it’s possible he picks up some save chances. That’s particularly true while Pete Fairbanks (shoulder), J.P. Feyereisen (biceps) and Nick Anderson (elbow) all remain sidelined.
