BOZEMAN, Mont.,
July 19, 2021 (Newswire.com) –

Leading outdoors lifestyle brand MeatEater, Inc., in partnership with its subsidiary Phelps Game Calls, announced today that it will debut a first of its kind aluminum elk call. The METAL Bugle Tube, composed of aluminum, is the first to ever be patented, with the call receiving approval from the U.S. Patent office in June 2021.

“There’s never been a bugle tube like this one. It’s been years in the making, and I can tell you because it’s louder, higher pitched, and has an enduring ring, elk hunters looking for an edge in their calling will have a METAL Bugle in their pack this September. Until the METAL tube becomes mainstream, elk callers using it will have an advantage over their competition,” said Janis Putelis, former elk hunting guide, co-host of The MeatEater Podcast, and host of the video series MeatEater Hunts.

“This is the first ever patented all-aluminum ‘metal’ bugle tube used for elk. It’s the product of years of design, labor and testing, and we’ve finally nailed the sound that is irresistible to a bull,” said Phelps Game Calls founder Jason Phelps.

Manufactured as a one-piece aluminum bugle tube, the Phelps METAL balances the elk hunters’ demand for a weight-conscious, compact design and the ability to project loud, crisp calls. The aluminum construction provides more sound than plastic and is engineered to meet the frequency of bull elk. With the option of Phelps’ flared or the external mouthpiece, all levels of calling ability are covered. The bugle has been sandblasted and anodized black, and wrapped in a closed-cell neoprene sleeve to eliminate glare and unwanted noise. The external bugle tube mouthpiece utilizes Phelps’ AMP frame and offers anyone the option to work and produce realistic chuckles and grunts.

The METAL Bugle Tube will join MeatEater’s commerce offerings of apparel, outdoor gear, cooking accessories, and books. For more information on the METAL Bugle Tube please visit www.themeateater.com or phelpsgamecalls.com.
