The Biden administration has taken its efforts to control the narrative around the anti-communist protests in Cuba to an unbelievable level.

In a statement that’s left many slack-jawed, the Biden administration carefully omitted the fact that these protests in Cuba are mainly about ending communism and instead decided to claim that this was entirely motivated by COVID.
I mean, it’s so outrageous that even Bill Kristol is bothered.
Here’s what the White House said: “Peaceful protests are growing in #Cuba as the Cuban people exercise their right to peaceful assembly to express concern about rising COVID cases/deaths & medicine shortages. We commend the numerous efforts of the Cuban people mobilizing donations to help neighbors in need.”
And here is Bill Kristol’s reponse: “The peaceful protestors in Cuba also seem to be asking for democracy and freedom. It would be good if “
