IRS Reverses Courses, Grants Tax-Exemption to Texas Religious Group

A senior IRS executive who previously denied tax-exemption to Christians Engaged because, he claimed, prayer and Bible study favor Republicans, reversed himself and awarded the favorable designation to the group. “We’re pleased to tell you we determined you’re exempt from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code 501(C)(3). Donors can deduct contributions they make to you under IRC Section 170,” IRS Director of Exempt Organizations, Rulings and Agreements Stephen K.
