There have been rumors swirling for quite some time now that Meghan McCain would be leaving “The View.”

Well, those rumors have finally panned out. Meghan shocked everyone when she announced today that she’s leaving the show.
This announcement comes on the heels of the president of ABC issuing Meghan and Joy Behar a warning about their toxic, nasty behavior.

Rumor has it that Meghan was the one who was mostly blamed for the “personal attacks” and viewer outrage.
As it stands now, I am sure that the other cat ladies on the show are secretly happy that Meghan is leaving — but it’s HOW she went about leaving that probably really frosted their butts.
Meghan made the announcement out of the blue today, and never bothered to tell her co-hosts – they heard about it at the same time the viewers did.
Meow!
Meghan claims that she’s leaving to raise her new daughter, and I’m sure that’s true and played into her reason for leaving – but I have a feeling the incident with the ABC president helped spur that decision on as well.
Daily Mail reports that Meghan McCain has announced live on air that she is quitting ABC’s The View after four years to raise her daughter in Washington DC, saying ‘this was not an easy decision.
DailyMail.com had revealed earlier on Thursday that the 36-year-old was stepping away from the daytime talk show at the end of the month with two years remaining on her contract.
Her co-hosts, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, and Ana Navarro, were not aware prior to Thursday that McCain had resigned, a source told DailyMail.com.
McCain addressed her resignation during The View’s opening segment, saying: “I’m going to rip the bandaid off.”
‘I am here to tell you – all of my wonderful co-hosts and viewers at home – that this is going to be my last season here at The View.
Of course, for the cameras, the co-hosts fawned and gushed over Meghan and praised her decision, but you know deep down they were probably mortified that they were blindsided like that live on the air.
It was one last “power-jab” from Meghan McCain, and even though I’m not a fan of hers, I like that she caught the cat ladies off guard.
Meghan will finish out the month and then begin her new life at home with her daughter.
