A royal expert is speaking out this week to allege that while Prince Harry wants to reconcile with his brother and sister-in-law, Prince William and Kate Middleton, his wife Meghan Markle is “sticking to her guns” in this feud.

“On one side we’ve got William who doesn’t seem prepared to concede anything and on the other side friends have told me that Harry wouldn’t mind reconciling and then it’s Meghan who is sticking to her guns on this issue,” royal expert Robert Lacey told The Express. “It should surely be possible for both sides to say the past is in the past.”

“It’s very regrettable that Meghan doesn’t withdraw just a little,” Lacey added. “Why can’t she say it was the pressure? ‘I was getting used to this incredibly complicated system, I was just pregnant, I couldn’t sleep… perhaps in retrospect I went over the top about it.’”

Royal author Hugo Vickers added that Harry has “thrown in his lot with his wife” and “slagging off his family” had helped nothing. He went on to say that Harry is “under the thumb” of his wife.

“I don’t know what they can do under the present circumstances,” he lamented. “Harry has got to wake up to what’s going on. It’s a very unpleasant situation and I don’t think it’s going to be the right moment this week. Harry is so under the thumb of Meghan it is not really possible until he emerges from that.”

“He has thrown in his lot with his wife. That’s it, isn’t it?” Vickers said. “Slagging off his family didn’t help anybody. It’s a dreadful situation.”

This comes after one royal expert said that Kate and Prince William are winning their PR war against Meghan and Prince Harry.

“I am not heavily invested in the royal dramas but I find it interesting which side’s publicity team is looking to who,” royal commentator Kyle Gillies told The Express. “And who has the media onside. That is really the crux of who comes out looking like the good guy and who comes out as the bad guy. At the moment William and Kate are winning by 10 goals.”

“I think Meghan did come in and she probably with her American way was very ‘let’s get this done’ and then maybe upset the apple cart,” the royal expert added. “Maybe some of William’s staff did take exception to it. I tend to believe, William got put off slightly, then confronted Harry. Harry of course is going to defend Meghan.”
