McAfee was arrested last October at the international airport in Barcelona on the tax evasion charges, which are pending in federal court in Tennessee, and which carry a maximum possible sentence of 30 years in prison.

He had been held in jail in Spain since then and had sought to avoid extradition by claiming he would be politically persecuted in the United States because of his criticisms of the IRS.
In addition, one year ago, McAfee claimed that he had dirt on politicians and government officials in the US that would expose their massive corruption and “bring the US down.”
McAfee was found dead of suspected suicide in his prison cell in Barcelona, Spain, just after they approved his extradition to the United States for the criminal tax evasion charges.
The Spanish newspaper El Mundo reported that McAfee died within hours of the extradition ruling.
McAfee’s lawyer said that his client apparently hanged himself.

What’s so chilling about that is this unearthed tweet from McAfee back in October.
Here’s what Mr. McAfee wrote this in a tweet:
“I am content in here. I have friends. The food is good. All is well. Know that if I hang myself, a la Epstein, it will be no fault of mine.”

The food is good. All is well.
Know that if I hang myself, a la Epstein, it will be no fault of mine.

He wrote this message to the US government less than a week ago.
“The US believes I have hidden crypto. I wish I did but it has dissolved through the many hands of Team McAfee (your belief is not required), and my remaining assets are all seized. My friends evaporated through fear of association. I have nothing. Yet, I regret nothing.”

That “Epstein” message is definitely creepy and chilling.
It’s fair to note that McAfee was a very “eccentric” man, who often said outlandish things. Truth be told, he could have been planing his own inevitable suicide when he wrote that tweet, and wanted to go out with a big “creepy” bang…who knows.
Or, he could have been “Epsteined.” We’ll likely never know if he was.
Nevertheless, it’s a tweet that definitely will cause some pause, and a lot of conspiracy theories, and for very good reason.
