Coin Geek reported that back on June 8, 2019, McAfee tweeted that he is in possession of data that could prove major corruption across all levels of government. The only way he will keep the information secret is if the government stops, as he sees it, harassing him
According to McAfee, he has been tipped off by well-connected friends that a case is being built against him for murder, racketeering and money laundering. He claims to have “31 terabytes” of data that, if he’s arrested, will be released. He adds that he will start with a “corrupt CIA agent and two Bahamian officials.”
He threatened in a tweet from two days ago, “I’ve collected files on corruption in governments. For the first time, I’m naming names and specifics. I’ll begin with a corrupt CIA agent and two Bahamian officials. Coming today. If I’m arrested or disappear, 31+ terabytes of incriminating data will be released to the press.”
The controversial McAfee founded the antivirus software company named after himself and has more recently been an influencer in the cryptocurrency community. John McAfee was 75 years old.
He died on Wednesday.
New York Post reported that Antivirus software tycoon John McAfee apparently hanged himself in a Spanish jail cell — just hours after a court ruled he would be extradited to face federal charges in the US.
Authorities said a preliminary investigation determined there were no signs of foul play, the Spanish newspaper El Pais reported.
The 75-year-old eccentric tech entrepreneur was arrested in October and was awaiting extradition in the Barcelona jail when he was found dead by hanging, police sources told El Pais.
The newspaper reported McAfee was pulled from his cell in Barcelona and police are investigating the circumstances around his death.
