The Democrats continue to demand more spending on public education while student performances decline and the teachers unions spend millions of dollars supporting leftist causes.
The two largest teachers unions are the National Education Association (NEA) and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT). These unions represent 4.7 million teachers. These organizations fought to stop schools from reopening after the Covid crisis ended. These organizations have been co-opted by leftist Democrats and they constantly fight any attempts to reform our public school systems.
Defending Education is a group that is organized to free public schools from leftist activists. For decades, leftist advocates have brought their agendas into our classrooms and attempted to force their beliefs on our students.
Defending Education recently released a report that revealed that the NEA and AFT donated over $43 million to left wing causes over the past two years. The size of the amount of money contributed to leftist organizations gives evidence of the agendas of the two teachers unions.
The NEA gave $9,500,000 to the State Engagement Fund which in turn gives money to leftist causes. The NEA also gave $6,950,000 to the For Our Future Action Fund. This leftist organization focuses on electing Democrats in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Nevada and Florida. The AFT also gave $2,350,000 to this organization.

Where does the AFT and NEA raise the money that they give to these left wing organizations? The money comes from the dues they collect forcibly from teachers.
The NEA and AFT also gave large donations to funds that give dark money to Democrat campaigns. These groups forwarded large amounts of money to the Biden and Kamala campaigns.
Both unions also gave $185,000 to the National Action Network which is an organization that promotes one of the greatest con-men of all times; Al Sharpton.
It is apparent that these contributions from the teachers unions are almost exclusively given to Democrats and leftist groups. These leftist groups use the funds to send busloads of paid protestors to any location where someone is attempting to reform and improve public education.
The Democrats wonder why public support for public schools continues to decline. Similarly to what has happened in our universities, the leftists have gained control and power in many of our public school systems. Slowly, the taxpayers are turning to alternative schools to educate their children outside of the leftist indoctrination that has corrupted many of our public schools.
The teachers unions need to stop pushing the leftist Democrat agenda if they want to be taken seriously by the taxpayers.
