Trump Tell DC Criminals: Get Out

The Democrats continue to bury their heads in the sand on the crime issue. The District of Columbia (DC) has been an example to the world of a city that is unsafe for visitors. I have spent many days in DC and I am always looking over my shoulder to protect myself. When I walk into drug stores in DC, there is very little product on the shelves that is not locked up. This is because of rampant shoplifting. Sit in a coffee shop and you will witness a mentally unbalanced homeless person yelling at staff and customers. 

Democrats say this is normal and they  refuse to make changes. We heard the same argument from Democrats when they said that the southern US border could not be closed. How did that turn out Joe?

Fortunately, President Trump realizes that inaction is the acceptance of failure. Americans voted for Trump, not because they agreed with all his policies, but rather, because they knew he would tackle difficult issues and not accept the status quo. 

The District of Columbia is run solely by Democrats. These Democrats have weakened the criminal laws to the point the criminals know they have the upper hand over the police. In today’s Democrat controlled cities, a small group of lawbreakers can destabilize whole neighborhoods in a city. By weakening the legal ramifications for law breaking, the Democrats caused whole cities to fall prey to criminals.

In 2024, DC had the 4th highest homicide rate of major US cities and a higher homicide rate than all 50 states. 

Another sad part of this issue is that the Democrat’s “weak on crime” agenda has hurt minorities worse than any group. The DC homicide rate for young black men has been above the national average for decades.

Not surprisingly, most of the killings involve males who have already been in the criminal justice system and most of them have spent time in jail. Early release and non prosecutions of these criminals puts them back on the streets and committing more crimes against innocent people.

The police union in DC has seen firsthand the devastation caused by the criminal element. The union endorsed Trump’s takeover of the DC police department.

America is a great country that deserves a safe capital city. Hopefully, Trump’s actions can restore order in DC.
