The poor Democrats cannot help themselves. They erupt in protest every time that President Trump makes a proposal. They get their marching orders from the New York Times.
The NYT recently ran an article that decried the fact that Trump has revived the Presidential Fitness Test. (After driving by several anti-Trump rallies, I can understand why his opponents oppose fitness tests)
The article in the NYT discusses the psychological harm that will come to some of the young people who are forced to take the fitness test. This capsulizes the Democrat Party’s approach to issues. They believe that if someone can’t pass a test, the answer is to make the test easier.
America is facing a healthcare crisis. Recent data from the Center for Disease Control showed that 73% of adults were overweight. As one looks around they find ample evidence of this fact. More and more young people are playing video games instead of getting physical exercise.
Our pharmaceutical industry is attempting to make exercise obsolete by telling people they can take a pill to lose weight and all will be fine. Good luck.
There has been a 400% increase in antidepressant pill use in the US over the past few decades. Between 2016 and 2022, antidepressant prescriptions for young people aged 12-25 jumped by 67%.
Exercise is proven to help with depression. Various studies and clinical guidelines have shown that exercise is effective for managing depressive symptoms. Exercise can be helpful as a standalone treatment or in conjunction with medicine.
President Trump realizes that the best way to encourage exercise is to bring back the President’s Fitness Test. In school, if you were in a class that had no test, you studied less. If you knew that you had a test, you knew that you had to be prepared.
The Democrats are now concerned about “body shaming” someone if they fail the test. Don’t challenge someone to lose weight because it might hurt their feelings. Give everyone a participation trophy.
This attitude of lowering the bar is killing Americans. Thank God that President Trump and Secretary Kennedy are challenging young Americans to improve themselves. Those that accept the challenge will have a much healthier and happier life.
The Democrats can continue their waddle towards mediocrity.
