Trump’s campaign to curb the power of independent federal agencies will have a gigantic impact on the “ bureaucratic state.” Liberals or leftists have for decades used the independent federal agencies as a means to impede the agendas of Republican Presidents while supporting the agendas of Democrat Presidents.

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) supervises union activity across our country. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) decides which business mergers can take place. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) controls the internet, telecommunications, wireless communications and media control issues.
When these independent agencies were set up, Congress attempted to keep their powers from the President’s control. The establishing laws for these agencies state that the President cannot remove members of these commissions “without cause.”
Over the decades, these agencies have grown enormous and have been captured by the bureaucracy. Most Americans understand that the bureaucrats tend to be leftists who work in conjunction with the Democrat Party.
The result of this bureaucratic capture is the focus of the agencies is to work against the agendas of Republican administrations. The poster child of these independent agencies is Anthony Fauci. He was able to make rules and regulations that affected many Americans.
The independence of these agencies has relied upon a 1935 Supreme Court case. The case established a very weak precedent that has never been seriously challenged.
The founders of our country established a strong Executive branch that was not subservient to the unelected bureaucrats. Each decade that passes allows the bureaucracy to gain more control over our everyday lives. In Europe the bureaucracy has stifled their economic growth with their endless rules and regulations. This is not what we desire in America.
Trump is reclaiming the Executive Branch’s power over these independent agencies. The Democrats are fighting this because they want us to become more like Europe and California. The Supreme Court will eventually decide if these unelected bureaucrats can continue to set rules and regulations for all Americans. Hopefully, Trump will prevail and America will benefit.
