Democrat mayors continue to produce the best warning labels for residents of big cities preparing to vote in elections. Mamdani, the mayor of New York City, has gained the most attention as  he has auditioned for “The Worst Mayor” award.

Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson has, in a short period of time, given evidence that her leftist views  are putting  her city on a fast descent into joining Chicago and Los Angeles as places that force taxpayers into moving elsewhere.

Howard Schultz, the founder of Starbucks, recently published an editorial in the Wall Street Journal. Schultz started Starbucks in Seattle decades ago. Starbucks, along with Microsoft, Amazon and Costco have been headquartered in the Seattle area and these organizations have pumped billions of dollars into the local economy.

Starbucks recently began moving jobs to the Tennessee area and Schultz has moved out of the state of Washington. Why would major companies be cutting back operations in cities that they considered their home base?

These companies are leaving because they see the future is bleak because these areas have become dominated by leftist Democrats. The playbook for succeeding in today’s Democratic Party is to put high taxes in place on corporations and vilify the corporations as enemies of the working class. This is what it takes to succeed with the leftist voters of the Democrat Party.

Large corporations are slowly leaving states and cities controlled by Democrats because they realize it is going to be difficult for them to succeed with a government that is hostile to business and refuses to crack down on crime.

How has this lunacy gained traction in so many big cities and states? Many of our liberal arts institutions have produced young people who do not have marketable skills but believe that they have a right to live a comfortable life in a big city. They have been taught by leftist professors that more social programs are needed and large corporations should pay the costs. Many of these professors have convinced these naive young people that career criminals are just good people who are down on their luck.

The mayor of Seattle is a former community organizer which means she has very little real world experience. Mayor Wilson is raising taxes and vilifying the businesses that have pumped billions of dollars into her community. Sadly, the small businesses, who cannot move, and the residents of Seattle will pay dearly for her lack of economic experience.
