The fanatical clerics that run Iran have managed to drive a once vibrant civilization over the financial cliff. It reminds one of the old proverb: If you dig a grave for others, you might fall into it yourself.
Iran and the religious clerics who have been in charge since 1979, have been so focused on their hatred of Israel and the West and they have ignored the needs of the Iranian people.
The Iranian economy is not just slowing down, it is in a dangerous spiral of stagflation. The religious leaders have had a monopoly on the oil money and instead of helping their citizens, they have used that money to spread terror around the world.
The leaders of Iran have become wealthy while the nation is in poverty. One US dollar is equal to 1,300,000 Iranian dollars. Before the religious clerics took control, the US dollar was equal to 79 Iranian dollars.
One person noted that you do not find economic savants among the ranks of autocrats, brutes and madmen. These clerics have been focused on retaining power and spreading terror around the world while their economy has flat-lined and their people suffer. Ironically, you would not expect this type of behavior from “religious leaders.”
National Review noted that 1 out of every 15 Iranians lives abroad. The Iranian clerics, with their strict Muslim laws, have established a system that drives out the most innovative and productive citizens.
The Iranian economy is crumbling before us. Last year, the gross domestic product shrank by 0.6%. All of their industries are contracting while inflation is exploding. With industry contracting and inflation above 40%, the public is showing signs of tiring of this regime.
The Iranian citizenry want a functioning economy more than they want to spend billions of dollars on killing Jews. Sadly, the Iranian clerics really believe that killing Jews will help solve their problems.
With the economy in shambles, the Iranian public may finally be able to overthrow the religious fanatics that have plundered their country. This would allow the talent and brainpower of the Iranian people to be directed towards improving their lives.
