Democrats and their cohorts continue to push America off a financial cliff. Their lack of financial sophistication has been revealed with their incessant demands to extend the taxpayer’s support for Obamacare premiums.
Obamacare was sold to the American public as a way to give Americans better medical care at a lower cost. Many Americans struggle with healthcare as they are unable to afford health insurance. Without insurance, these Americans often use the emergency room as their primary care provider. This leads to minor health problems evolving into major medical issues because the patient’s issues are not dealt with before they advance to a more complicated situation. This often results in a higher cost to treat the issue.
Many nations provide free healthcare but it usually comes with a high cost. Because a system is free, it must be supported by huge public spending which necessitates higher taxes. These free healthcare systems are usually plagued by long waits for medical care and a lower standard of care than most Americans have come to expect.
Many Americans hear the word “free” and believe that it must be the best system. Our country has the most money spent on healthcare but the vast percentage of this money is lost in the insurance bureaucracy.
The Democrat plan is the easy way out for politicians and those lacking in financial acumen. Just keep increasing the Obamacare subsidies and ignore the fraud and costs that are spiraling out of control. Tim Walz in Minnesota has given us all a lesson in how Democrats refuse to stop fraud and abuse. They are like a driver who sees flashing emergency lights ahead and responds by pushing down on the accelerator.
Republicans understand that the only way to control cost is to cut some subsidies and attempt to eliminate the fraud that is ubiquitous in the system. This is not the popular response. It is not sexy to say that extending the premiums will encourage waste and fraud and will result in the insurance companies getting richer.
Our local Democrats and their online newspaper are demanding that Congressmen Buchanan and Steube vote to extend the premium support that have resulted in higher costs, fraud and abuse.
Intelligent Manatee taxpayers recognize the con game the Democrats and faux Republicans are attempting to foist on the taxpayers.
