We have passed the 3 year mark of Elon Musk’s purchase and transformation of Twitter. It is not hyperbole to state that his transformation of Twitter is not far behind the US adoption of the First Amendment as a bellwether of “free speech.”

Prior to Musk’s purchase of Twitter, it was a company controlled by young college graduates who rarely worked but installed a system that promoted leftist policies and views while effectively silencing conservative views in daily conversation.

Many of the Twitter employees had graduated from universities that had a faculty makeup that was 95% left leaning. The professors and college administrators effectively limited conservative viewpoints from university life.

These young college graduates, who had little exposure to conservative viewpoints, were hired by Twitter to be in charge of content moderation. Imagine hiring Chinese government officials to produce our nightly news. These university graduates brought their hypersensitivity to controversial discussion into their roles at Twitter and they turned the public forums (Twitter, Facebook and Google) into left-wing university departments.

When Musk took control of Twitter, he found waste comparable to what we see in universities across the country. There were more workers cooking food in the Twitter cafeteria than the workers who ate the food. The Twitter wokeness police had been replacing tampons every week in the MENS restroom even though none were ever used. The mindset of the Twitter employees was similar to the people we see at the “NO KINGS” rallies.

The wasteful spending and excessive number of employees was comparable to what we observe in our federal government. (And sometimes in our state and local governments) Of course this is not unusual for any company or governmental body run by Democrats.

Musk immediately fired over 80% of the workforce and turned the financial health of the company around while the leftists and Democrats worked hard to convince advertisers to boycott Twitter. Musk renamed the company and immediately reinstated people who had been banned from Twitter because of their non-woke views. President Trump, Jordan Peterson and other conservatives had been banned because they did not follow the leftist line on gender issues or climate change.

Musk also found that Twitter had been “shadow banning” conservative voices by using algorithms to downplay their tweets to keep them from being seen by much of the public. It seems ludicrous today to realize that this was actually happening in America until you realize that most of the people at the “No Kings” rallies approved of the “shadow banning” of conservative voices.

This fascist behavior by Twitter employees and officials was just an extension of what occurs on university campuses.

When Musk changed Twitter to X and began to allow free speech, it gave cover to Facebook (Meta) and Google to begin allowing more conservative voices on their sites.

Musk understood that the leftists were using the cover of “stopping hate speech” to stop free speech that they disliked. Musk believed that it was not good for society to suppress free speech. Musk said; “Suppress not lest ye be suppressed.”

Our country, under the leadership of the Democrats, was on a course to effectively eliminate conservative voices. Musk singlehandedly stopped the leftists from having control of our public forums.

Fortunately, today you can hear citizens claim that Trump is a “King” while others hail his common sense approach to solving problems. This is what our Founding Fathers produced so many years ago. It was subverted by leftists who did not wish to hear divergent viewpoints.

We as a nation will one day realize how monumental Musk’s efforts were toward the preservation of free expression.
