General Motors has seen the light on its Electric Vehicle (EV) fantasy and is pivoting towards a focus on gas powered vehicles while also improving its EVs. Over the last several years, GM, under the leadership of its CEO, Mary Barra, had jumped head first into the Democrat’s drive to force Americans to shift to electric vehicles.

The forced feeding of electric vehicles to the American consumer became a religious crusade that any Democrat politician had to endorse. The Democrats fervently pushed higher mileage mandates on the automobile manufacturers with the zeal of an Iranian Morality policeman enforcing the Sharia laws requiring facial covering for women.

No amount of economic facts or common sense was allowed to impede the enforcement of draconian mileage rules that were imposed with the intent to force Americans to buy electric vehicles.

As with any enforced mandate, the population often rebels against being told how they must behave. The Democrats, under Biden, were raising the mileage standards in order to force auto manufacturers to stop producing gas powered vehicles and shift to producing electric vehicles.

Gavin Newsome, the California Governor that Manatee Democrats and RINOs fantasize about in late night wet dreams, joined this farce by adopting stringent mileage standards in California that would have made it impossible to sell gas-powered vehicles after 2035.

Newsome, who owns several vineyards and is extremely wealthy, can afford to buy an electric vehicle. The working class people of California would have suffered under the draconian rules that would have made automobile prices increase dramatically.

Fortunately, Trump was elected and General Motor’s CEO, Barra, grew a set of you know what and acknowledged that the “emperor had no clothes.” Barra realized that the Democrat agenda to make gasoline powered engines illegal was not supported by working class Americans.

This past spring, Barra asked President Trump to throw out the ridiculous mileage standards that Biden and Kamala had established. Barra acknowledged the fact that most 8th graders can see; the transition to EVs will take decades.

Gavin Newsom and Pete Buttigieg reacted with all the fury of a San Francisco drag queen who arrived too late for the Boy Scout Jamboree. They accused Barra of selling out to the oil industry.

Fortunately, Barra realized that the Democrat plan would have caused economic hardship to hard working Americans while lining the pockets of Democrat elites.

The American consumers will support electric vehicles when they are not crammed down their throats by elitist leftists. General Motors CEO, Mary Barra, realized that the American consumer has the ultimate vote on electric vehicles.
