President Trump shows an enormous capacity for multi-tasking and driving the agenda for changing our country. As leftist forces hold roadside protests calling him a king, he continues to push his agenda forward.
INCREASING EUROPEAN DEFENSE SPENDING
The European Union has, for decades, relied upon the US to be their protector from evil actors in the world. This agreement allowed countries across Europe and Asia to avoid investing in their own defense. American Presidents and Legislators had accepted this arrangement without question.
Trump realized that this bargain made no economic sense for the United States. When he was elected in 2016, he began demanding that European leaders begin the process of increasing their defense budgets. Of course, the Democrats and the Washington DC establishment fought against Trump’s demand. They argued that it was impractical for Europe to make major investments in their own defense.
Trump ignored the criticism and when he was reelected last November, he began urging Europe to increase its defense spending.
Amazingly, the tide in Europe changed and across the continent, nations have raised their investments in their own defense. This would never have happened if Hillary or Kamala had been elected.
ELIMINATING FEDERAL DEPARTMENTS AND EMPLOYEES
Elon Musk shocked much of the world when he took ownership of Twitter (X) and eliminated 75% of the workforce while increasing user participation.
Trump watched Musk’s strategy work and he has incorporated it into the federal government. The federal bureaucracy is bloated with huge numbers of federal employees who are rarely fired and never suffer employment cutbacks. This is not how successful businesses are operated.
Trump saw the inefficiencies of the federal workforce and began encouraging federal workers to take buyouts. Other employees were terminated and federal departments were slashed. Any business leader knows that you constantly need to study ways to be more efficient. Refusing to make changes to your workforce will ultimately lead to an inefficient workforce that will probably not survive. If you are not willing to let some employees go, you are putting at risk the jobs of all the employees.
Most Americans were unaware that the federal government went on a hiring spree during Covid and added many jobs. This needed to be reversed and Trump has started the process and the Democrats, of course, are howling.
TRUMP THE PEACEMAKER
Recently, Trump brokered a resolution to the conflict between Rwanda and the Republic of Congo. This conflict has been simmering since 1994. Over 500,000 people have been displaced and thousands have died as a result of the fighting. Many people have experienced food shortages and many have been subjected to sexual violence.
A US brokered peace deal was signed on June 27th. Trump used the power of his personality to bring the warring parties to the peace table.
Trump also stepped in to settle the last conflict between India and Pakistan. After a recent terrorist attack, the long standing conflict between India and Pakistan began to explode. Trump again used his personality with the help of Secretary Rubio to get both sides to agree to back down from a major escalation.
Trump is continuing to work on reaching a conclusion to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. He is also attempting to bring the Israeli-Hamas conflict to a successful conclusion.
Trump is not sitting back and taking naps in the White House Assisted Living Facility like his predecessor. He is taking an active role in resolving these conflicts even though he knows he may not be successful. Many Presidents refuse to get involved in conflict resolution because they are worried that if they are not successful, they will be deemed failures. Trump does not worry about this. He reminds me of the “Man in the Arena” which was written by a former President: Teddy Roosevelt.
