The first 6 months of the Trump administration has set a new standard for accomplishments. Most new Presidents attempt to get their priorities accomplished while they attempt to reach a consensus with the political opposition and the mainstream media.
The Democrats have made it clear that they were unwilling to work with Trump on any of his priorities. The mainstream media made it clear that they would adamantly oppose any changes that Trump enacted. This actually freed Trump from having to compromise on his priorities. The Democrats and the mainstream media were going to go nuclear in their opposition to him so why worry; just take action.
IMMIGRATION AND BORDER CONTROL
Trump shut down the porous southern border that the Democrats had completely screwed up. In just a few months, the illegal crossings completely stopped. Biden had whined that he could not shut down the illegal crossings without congressional action.Trump called “bullshit” and he was correct. By making arrests and deportation a real possibility, Trump sent a message to anyone wishing to come to America: Do it the proper way through legal channels. This action has saved thousands of lives and kept many young children from being sold into sexual slavery by the coyotes who, for years, ferried migrants across the border without fear of arrest.
DEI IN GOVERNMENT, COLLEGE CAMPUSES AND PRIVATE WORKPLACES
Trump made it clear that the racist policies of the Democrats would no longer be tolerated. President Lyndon Johnson shepherded the passage of the Civil Rights Act to stop overt racism in our country. President Trump sent attorneys from the Department of Justice to courthouses across our country to stop racist practices in hiring, government and private benefits and college acceptances. This has been a fundamental shift away from government sponsored and endorsed racism.
This was a major sea change that alters how our society operates. Promotions and job opportunities based on merit will again become the norm. Employers will not be allowed to hire people based on their race.
One benefit of this change is a forced reckoning with our educational system that has failed in underperforming parts of our society. Schools will be forced to find novel ways to improve the education of underperforming groups because no longer will they be bailed out by preferential hiring. Let us hope that the educational hierarchy will be willing to push back against the unions and demand that the underperforming communities no longer be subject to the racism of lowered expectations.
TRUMP STOOD UP TO THE MIDEAST BULLY: IRAN
For years, the Obama and Biden administrations ignored Iran’s actions that destabilized the Middle East. The Democrats looked the other way when Iran supported terrorism. They even attempted to pay off Iran in exchange for better behavior. The wily Iranians took the American money and doubled down on their efforts to destabilize the Middle East.
With the help of Israel, the US finally has a Middle East that is not dominated by Iran. The US attack on the Iranian nuclear weapon development facilities gave notice that America will not look the other way as Iran acts as a regional bully.
The determination by Trump to act and not just talk has put the world on notice that America is back. Trump will not chase needless wars but he will be the world’s sheriff who keeps the peace by letting the bad actors know he will not be pushed around.
