Democrat Governors Are Forced To Cancel Costlly Benefits They Championed

Leftist Democrat Governors around the United States have, over the past few years, extended state-funded healthcare to illegal immigrants. California Governor Gavin Newsome, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker all enacted legislation giving state funded healthcare to illegal immigrants. These Governors trumpeted their policies with great fanfare explaining that it was the morally correct pathway.

Any 2nd year Business Management major could have explained to these Democrats that their programs would explode in popularity and the projected costs were severely underestimated.

Of course these programs immediately began to drain the state budgets and divert funding from programs that were helping the legal citizens of these states.

Recently, Newsome proposed freezing the enrollment of illegal aliens into the state’s Medicaid program for the poor and disabled. He is now attempting to charge the illegals $100 dollars per month because his foolish decision to enact the program has caused the state program to have an $8 billion dollar shortfall.

Pritzker had a similar experience in Illinois where he found out that his program for giving health care coverage to illegal aliens had cost $800 million when he had promised the cost would be $112 million. What would you expect of a trust fund baby who lives off trust distributions? 

Tim Walz also ended his funding of healthcare benefits for illegal aliens when the costs became too expensive for the residents of Minnesota.

These Democrats piously said that giving health coverage to illegal immigrants was the only moral action for their states. Does that imply that these Democrats were acting immorally when they ended the health benefits for illegals?

This is just a reminder that when Democrats promise they can give more money away and the costs will be minimal, they are usually being as truthful as Ayatollah Khamenei.
