Lee Zeldin, a NY Congressman, was appointed head of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) by President Trump. Zeldin has been leading Trump’s charge to roll back the ludicrous initiatives put in place by the Biden administration. During the Obama years, the President enacted a rule that labelled greenhouse gases as a threat to public health. Obama and Biden used the rule to enact DEI initiatives and countless rules that caused vehicle prices to rise along with the cost of electricity.

Zeldin, with Trump’s backing, has begun bringing common sense back to the EPA. He started by cancelling $20 billion in clean energy grants that were political payoffs to leftist non-profit groups.

Zeldin is a realist that understands the need for EPA to protect the air and water supply. Zeldin, unlike the Democrats, does not believe every environmental rule was written by God.

The Democrats have used rulemaking to get rid of entire industries they did not like. The Democrats hate coal, so they enacted rules to shut down the coal industry. They did this knowing that they would put thousands of Americans out of work and that the cost of electricity would rise for hard working Americans.

In a recent interview, Zeldin noted that even some Democrats are getting fed up with the “zero emissions” nonsense. Recently, 35 House Democrats joined Republicans in repealing California’s requirement that only electric vehicles can be sold in the state after 2035. This rule would have dramatically raised the cost of automobiles for working class families.

Zelding is also aggressively reforming the EPA by making it less bureaucratic and by eliminating billions of dollars of waste. Hopefully, his common sense approach to protecting the environment while saving jobs will set a new standard for the future.
