The mainstream media is finally starting to cover the cognitive decline of Joe Biden that occurred over the past 5 years. The media is now admitting that it was probably a mistake to ignore the obvious signs of Biden’s mental decline. What a change. This is the equivalent of a criminal getting “jailhouse religion.” For years, the “esteemed” New York Times told its readers that the accusations that Biden was experiencing mental lapses was a “conspiracy theory.”
Some of the same mainstream media are now publishing books about the Presidential campaign that confirm that Biden was severely limited in his ability to perform the duties of the Presidency. These books detail the extent that Biden’s inner circle went to limit access to Biden in order to keep the story under wraps. Of course, these media elites refuse to admit that the main reason they did not cover Biden’s problems was their hatred of Donald Trump and their determination to keep him out of the White House.
Some of the media are attempting to explain away the lack of coverage by blaming “group-think.” This suggests that most believed that Biden was up to the Presidency and those who thought otherwise were quiet in order to remain “part of the club.” While this excuse appears to be less damning than the charge that the press intentionally propped Biden up to impede Trump, it suggests that the public cannot trust the mainstream media since they missed such a major story.
One thing is certain, the mainstream media would never cover up Trump’s cognitive decline should it occur. They would stab one another in the back trying to expose any of Trump’s foibles.
The reality is that the media was exposed to be highly partisan and far removed from just reporting the facts. They attempted to influence an election in favor of the Democrats. As a result, many Americans have turned to alternative news sources to stay informed. This will require all readers to take a skeptical look at everything they read. This new skepticism will make Americans less gullible and more informed.
