The Democrats (including the Manatee Democrats) are protesting because President Trump has started deportation proceedings against a Columbia University student who harassed Jewish students and led protests in support of Hamas. Mahmoud Khalil came to the US from Syria. I feel safe  in stating that Mr. Khalil will not start leading protests against the government of Syria  when he is deported from the US.

Most Americans have a common sense belief that a visitor to a country should follow the laws of the country. They do not believe that harassing citizens and starting riots is something a visitor to the US should do.

Democrats, on the other hand, believe that Mr. Khalil should be allowed to remain in the US while continuing his lawless behavior.

For decades, the Democrats have coddled the lawbreakers on university campuses. These radical students have been joined by leftist professors as they shut down university campuses. These students and professors are convinced that traditional American values are taboo.

Living in their Democrat bubble, it never occurred to the Democrats that  their support of the lawless Palestinian students was turning more Americans towards supporting Trump. The universities that admitted so many foreign students that hate American values have prompted Congress to cut back on the taxpayer subsidies  received by the elite, leftist universities.

These foreign students are convinced that they can storm campus buildings and shut down classes because they believe that Hamas is being mistreated. It is obvious that these students are being coached in their actions by leftist professors. Under the Biden administration, these lawbreakers suffered minimal consequences. With Trump in the White House, there is a new “Sheriff” in town. Now these universities are losing huge federal subsidies.

I would like to ask the leaders of Columbia University if their support of anti-semite Palestinians was worth the loss of research funds that could have led to the discovery of medical breakthroughs.
