Ballroom Dancing With a Patriotic Flair

The Bradenton Woman’s Club is the home of ballroom dancing in Manatee County on Friday evenings. At 7pm a dance lesson is provided that gives beginners a chance to learn basic steps and allows seasoned dancers to brush up on their form.

At 8pm, live music is provided and the dance floor comes alive with dancers of all ages and skill levels. Someone once said that there are shortcuts to happiness and dancing is one of them. One sees many smiling faces as dancers move around the floor.

It would also seem that dancing is good for one’s health as there are many dancers that need a large cake to hold their birthday candles.

Watching the experienced dancers is entertaining because you see many different styles of dancing. It was once said that “all roads lead to Rome” and it is true that all dance styles lead to enjoyment and great exercise. A novice dancer can master simple steps and gain a lifetime of enjoyment.

Men, surprise your wife by bringing her to the Woman’s Club for dancing and wait till Saturday night to make her sit through another episode of the “Tool Man” TV show. She will appreciate your effort.

A wall sized American flag graces the background of the stage and a stirring rendition of God Bless America is sung at the halfway point.

Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are available at the club but dancers may bring their own “dancing juice” to loosen up their muscles and increase their courage.

The Bradenton Woman’s Club is located at 1705 Manatee Avenue West.
