Title: “Wonderful World”

Dates: Tuesday, March 1 – Thursday, March 31, 2022

Sue Elliott tells us “the song ‘Wonderful World’ is one that I often listen to while creating. It makes me happy.” While the world struggles to gain a footing with the pandemic, we could all use a celebration of found happiness and the appreciation of the beauty
around us.

For her exhibit, Sue has created artwork ranging from shorebirds to octopuses — these make her smile and have been wonderful to create. “I love to paint and experiment with mediums, techniques and subjects. Mixed media best describes my current focus, using acrylic paints, glazes, texture mediums and gold leaf. Not always working with a plan allows me to add and subtract elements of a finished piece, keeping it interesting and original.”

Meet the Artist — Sue will be at Island Gallery West on Sunday, March 20, from 10 am to 5 pm, when she will be happy to discuss her experiments with various mediums and techniques, as well as her sources of inspiration. Island West Gallery is located at 5368 Gulf Drive in Holmes Beach, Trolley Stop 15, on Anna Maria Island. Gallery hours are 10 am to 5 pm, Tuesday through Sunday.
