Bradenton, FL- Today, Mike Rahn announced his candidacy for Manatee County Commission, District 4.  Rahn is a veteran, businessman and well-respected member of the Manatee County Planning Commission.  He plans on running a vigorous campaign giving district 4 Republicans a fresh start and real conservative to represent them.

“As a Veteran I was trained to always be ready for the fight; As a businessman, I learned you have to be ready for the unknown; Today, I’m a candidate pledging to give Republicans a real conservative they can vote for in District 4,” Rahn began.  “I am pro-life.  I am pro-Trump.  I am pro-DeSantis.  I am pro-freedom.”  He continued.

“My opponent wants a career on the commission.  She proclaimed she’s pro-choice.  She refused to support President Trump and called Governor DeSantis a racist.  She locked down our economy and wanted to lock down our churches.  She is not conservative.  She isn’t even a Republican.  That’s the choice in the Republican Primary for District 4,” Rahn concluded.

Mike Rahn is a lifelong resident of Manatee and Sarasota Counties.  After graduating from Sarasota High School in 1980, Mike joined the United States Marine Corps where he served 13 distinguished years in both active and reserve duty.  He served in Operation Desert Storm and was Honorably discharged.

While serving in the Marines, Mike was awarded numerous Meritorious Citations, medals and ribbons including while serving in Operation Desert Storm.

He has been a Residential Mortgage Leader for over 29 years in the Manatee/Sarasota market helping hundreds of homeowners obtain the American Dream of homeownership. Currently working for South State Bank.  He is currently on the Manatee County Planning Commission with 29 years of experience in the mortgage and lending industry.  He is a Past President of the Home Builders Association of Manatee-Sarasota, a Past Second Vice President of the Florida Home Builders Association, and a Board Member of the National Association of Home Builders. Mike also was elected to the Florida Housing Hall of Fame in 2017.

He also serves the community as the Vice Chairman of the Board Directors for the Safe Children Coalition, member of the Finance & the Philanthropic Committee’s and is Vice Chairman of the SCC Foundation. The Safe Children Coalitions severs at risk children and families in Manatee, Sarasota, and Desoto counties.  SCC the largest foster care and adoption program in the 3 counites under the 12th District Court. 

Mike has 2 Son’s and 2 Grandchildren. While not working, Mike enjoys playing golf, traveling and time with his family and friends.
