The 35th Annual Manatee County Championship was held yesterday at Heritage Harbour Golf Club. 6 County Teams and two individuals from 2 schools made up the field. Lakewood Ranch won the event with a five over par performance, defeating Runner-Up St. Stephens by 18 shots. Beni Long of St. Stephens defended his individual title from last year with another 70 this year, defeating Lakewood Ranch’s Jaxon Brown by one shot. They were the only two players under par in the 42-man field. This was Lakewood Ranch’s 16th victory since it’s first appearance in 1999. They finished the regular season with a record of 120-15-1. Next up for all County teams is District Championships on Monday at various locations.
