September 13, 2021 – When Colonel Russ Vernon (Ret.), Executive Director of The National Purple Heart Honor Mission, called Marc Bokoff, owner of Bokoff Tours & Travel, Bokoff didn’t hesitate to offer his services. Vernon was looking for a travel professional to help get Purple Heart recipients from all 50 states to the organization’s annual program in New York at the end of September. Bokoff, an experienced travel professional with over 30 years of industry experience, is an affiliate of Cruise Planners and has offices in Lakewood Ranch, FL and Norwich, CT.
The National Purple Heart Honor Mission supports programs to pay tribute to American heroes and the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor in Newburgh, NY. During the week of September 27, 2021, the National Purple Heart Honor Mission will welcome Purple Heart recipients from across the nation to the historic Hudson Valley as part of the 2021 Purple Heart Patriot Project. During the week, participants will be honored for their bravery and sacrifice on behalf of our grateful nation. They’ll partake in events and ceremonies honoring their service to the United States.
“Logistically, arranging flights for honorees and their guests from across the nation required professional management,” said Colonel Vernon. “With so many tickets to purchase from so many places, I was hoping to find a travel advisor who would help us with this undertaking. Marc Bokoff was recommended and he was quick to offer his time and experience at no cost to our organization. It’s been a pleasure to work with Marc. He clearly is an expert in making travel arrangements and we appreciate his support of our Purple Heart heroes.”
For his part, Bokoff notes “I am thrilled to be a part of The National Purple Heart Honor Mission, even in this support role. It’s an honor to provide my services for these amazing heroes and for the organization. This opportunity has been a wonderful way to give back to our community.”
