Florida Highway Patrol Seeking Driver Who Sideswiped And Injured Road Ranger

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL. – A female driver is sought by Florida Highway Patrol after she sideswiped a Road Ranger on the Howard Frankland Bridge Friday.

According to FHP, a Florida Road Ranger was traveling northbound on the Howard Frankland Bridge along the outside paved shoulder and coming to a stop to assist a disabled vehicle.

Troopers say a 2014 Mazda 6, was traveling northbound in the outside lane, and just prior to the Road Ranger exiting the Road Ranger truck, the Mazda traveled partially onto the outside shoulder and sideswiped the truck.

Troopers say the Mazda traveled down the grass embankment and collided with a concrete barrier wall before coming to stop.

The driver of the Mazda exited the car and hopped into a gray Nissan Versa driven by a heavy-set black male and left the crash scene.
