Florida Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate Nikki Fried Confirms Media’s Anti-GOP Bias

It’s arguably the worst kept secret in American politics that the major news media, and even the not-so-major outlets, slant liberal and openly advocate for Democrats, while seeking to denounce, demean, and discredit Republicans.
But Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Freid just said the quiet part out loud.
Fried, a Democrat, is running for governor in 2022 against popular Republican incumbent Gov. Ron DeSantis.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Fried said, “Ron DeSantis has Fox News, but we have everyone else. Florida will be blue in 2022.”
While some liberals on Twitter cheered her, conservatives immediately saw the tweet for its plainspoken value.
“Are Dems admitting that every single news org other than Fox News is in their pocket?” one tweeted.
Another added, “So you admit that the DNC owns the Fake News Media? Thanks for telling everyone what we already know.”
“Saying the quiet parts loud and communist AF these days,” another noted.
“You’re admitting that all media outlets not named Fox News are in the tank for Democrats,” one added.
The conservative group Accuracy in Media added in a meme, “So you agree you think the media is biased against conservatives?” AIM added in another tweet, “Admitting that the rest of the media is in your pocket isn’t the flex you think it is.”
One more commentor said, “And people wonder why Americans trust the media less than politicians which they trust less than brake pads made of ramen noodles.”
In 2013 Indiana University released the latest update to a longitudinal study of journalists’ political leanings.
From 1971, and taken about every 10 years afterward, the percentage of journalists who admitted to being Republicans went from 25.7 percent to 18.8 percent to 16.7 percent to 18 percent and then fell off to 7 percent.
Is there any reason to believe it’s increased since 2013?
Nikki Fried just reminded us: No.
