Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody announced via Twitter Wednesday that she has tested positive for COVID-19.
The news comes five days after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott met with several representatives from Florida, including Moody and Governor of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, for a border security briefing in Del Rio on Saturday. The two were also joined by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, along with other Texas border security members.
Moody says she received a COVID-19 vaccine earlier this year and is experiencing mild symptoms.
“My family is in good health. As I continue to self-quarantine, I want to encourage Floridians to be vigilant about their health,” Moody says.
In Texas, the coronavirus test positivity rate now exceeds 10 percent for the first time since February, with the new delta variant responsible for 59 percent of those cases.
