Deloitte Announces New Managing Director

Deloitte hired Bob Taylor as managing director of its legal business services practice.

In this role, Taylor will be responsible for engaging on a variety of topics, “with a specialization in legal innovation, strategy, corporate insurance, litigation management, claims, regulatory compliance and legal technology,” a press release announcing the appointment said.

Taylor brings 25 years of insurance industry experience to Deloitte.

He most recently served as vice president, senior corporate counsel, for Liberty Mutual Insurance.

AXA XL Brings on Management Specialty Within Casualty Risk Consulting Team

AXA XL recently announced the hiring of Andrew Diesel as a casualty risk consultant.

In this role, Diesel will be responsible for administering technical support to AXA XL underwriters and clients in both the U.S. and Canada. Additionally, he will continue to build upon already-created partnerships at AXA XL with ecosystem tech partners and collaborate with underwriters on client support.

Diesel brings a near 10 years of fleet management and consulting experience to AXA XL. He most recently worked with Gallagher where he served as a senior risk control consultant.

“As we continue to expand our Risk Consulting capabilities, it is incredibly important we invest in the areas that impact our clients. The challenges facing fleets of all sizes in the Americas over the last several years are well known in the industry, and as a prior fleet manager, Andrew is intimately aware of the unique risks in this space,” said Jonathan Salter, global head of risk consulting at AXA XL.

Zywave Brings on Jeff Cohen to Lead Carrier Expansion

Zywave named Jeff Cohen as senior vice president and head of its carrier business.

In this role, Cohen will work in collaboration with other Zywave executives to “help carrier partners expand distribution, increase profitability and facilitate communications throughout the insurance distribution and placement process,” a press release announcing the appointment said.

Prior to his appointment, Cohen served as Advisen’s president and head of its data and media business for 17 years.

“Over the past few years, Zywave has not only significantly expanded its carrier offerings, but we’ve created the most innovative, insightful and impactful solutions available to that market,” said Jason Liu, chief executive officer of Zywave.

“Jeff’s extensive knowledge and experience working with the industry’s leading carriers will further enhance our service and support for that segment.”

State Street Names Global Head of Insurance Segment

State Street announced the hiring of Jason Knight as global head of its insurance segment.

In this role, Knight will be primarily responsible for both creating and implementing State Street’s global business strategy.

Knight brings over 27 years of financial services experience to his new role with State Street. Prior to his appointment, he served as the head of the insurance segment, Americas for BNY Mellon’s asset servicing firm.

accūrō Solutions Hires Chief Strategy Officer

accūrō Solutions announced the appointment of George Furlong as chief strategy officer.

In this role, Furlong will be responsible for leading the integration of both the clients’ processes and claims systems in order to best value medical and claim data. Additionally, he will collaborate with other leaders and clients to better the quality of medical payment management.

Furlong brings an extensive background in workers’ compensation and managed care to his new role with accūrō Solutions.

Prior to his appointment, he served as senior vice president of managed care for Sedgwick Claims Management, Inc.

“George’s vast understanding of data analytics and predictive modeling and his more than 20 years of finance and operations are incredibly valuable as we help clients maximize this innovative technology developed just for the property and casualty industry,” said chairman and CEO Kenneth Hannigan. &
