Full Story:

Orlando City and Arsenal will meet for the first time when they face off at Exploria Stadium in a 2022 preseason friendly. While Arsenal are gearing up for the Premier League season on Aug. 5, Orlando City are already more than halfway through the Major League Soccer season.

Mikel Arteta’s new-look Arsenal are cruising in preseason with dominant displays in victories over Ipswich Town, Nurnberg, and most recently Everton last Saturday night. Summer signing Gabriel Jesus was the star in the 2-0 win in Baltimore with a goal and assist, already proving to be a difference-maker for the club.

Orlando City are in a busy stretch of the season with a congested calendar seeing them play once every three days through end of July. The Lions have experienced an average season (8W-7L-6D) but they are are in the mix to make the MLS playoffs in October, and they also host a single-elimination U.S. Open Cup semifinal on July 27.
