Quick Bit: The Warriors are coming off another NBA Finals victory, but that doesn’t mean they’re the perfect team.
Well, they certainly put the “Golden” in Golden State.
Rumors of the Warriors’ demise have been greatly exaggerated — Steph Curry will remind you of that himself. But even though Golden State downed the Celtics to claim its fourth championship during the Splash Brothers era doesn’t mean it’s a complete team moving forward.
The Warriors are going to have to address key depth spots this offseason, with several notable free agents hitting the market.
While they’ll wait until free agency to address some of those questions, they’ll look to the draft on Thursday night for some more immediate answers. For a team that drafted Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Jordan Poole and Kevon Looney — five of its top six in minutes played during the NBA Finals — the NBA Draft is yet another time when the Warriors outclass the competition.

Warriors draft needs
Point guard: No, no one is saying to put Steph Curry, reigning finals MVP, out to pasture. The truth is, though, Curry is 34 years old, and Jordan Poole’s emergence as a legit starting caliber player means that they’ll need depth at point guard sooner rather than later.
Center: Kevon Looney is a free agent and even though the Warriors spend like no team in NBA history, there’s no guarantee he’s back. It’s been two years of James Wiseman and he’s played in just 39 games — all of which coming in the 2020-21 season. While there’s still time for Wiseman to work through injuries, another year of not having a solid
Wing depth: With Andre Iguodala, Otto Porter and Gary Payton II all hitting free agency this offseason, the Warriors could target more wing depth to replace one or two spots. With Iguodala facing retirement and Porter likely leaving in free agency, they could address their depth at the spot in the draft.
