Quick Bit: Who is favourite to win the Premier League this season? A look at the frontrunners to lift the 2022/23 trophy and the current odds for every EPL team.

Full Story:

The 2021/22 Premier League season concluded in dramatic fashion, with Manchester City being crowned champions on the final day as they finished one point ahead of Liverpool.

City will be determined to defend their crown in 2022/23, but Liverpool will be out for revenge and there may well be other contenders too.

Here’s a look at who the favourites are to win the Premier League in 2022/23.

Odds provided by Sky Bet.

5. Manchester United – 33/1

Despite a disastrous season in which they finished in sixth place, United are hopeful of enjoying a positive new era under Erik ten Hag.

There is much work to do at Old Trafford, however, with the squad in need of a significant overhaul. United have yet to add to their resources so far but have been linked with players including Christian Eriksen and Frenkie de Jong.

A title charge would appear to be a little optimistic at present but Sky Bet have placed United as fifth favourites.

4. Chelsea – 18/1

Thomas Tuchel’s side had to deal with much uncertainty in the second half of last season, with owner Roman Abramovich eventually leaving the club. Todd Boehly is now at the helm and Chelsea will be looking to put more pressure on City and Liverpool after finishing third last season.

How Chelsea replace Romelu Lukaku, who is is set to rejoin Inter Milan on loan, could be key, with Raheem Sterling on their radar.

Tuchel has some talented players at his disposal but further additions are needed if Chelsea are to seriously challenge for the title.

3. Tottenham – 14/1

It is well documented that Tottenham haven’t won the league since 1961, but there is a real feeling of optimism surrounding the club under Antonio Conte.

With stars of the calibre of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, Tottenham are capable of causing major problems for defences, while the arrival of Yves Bissouma provides them with extra quality in midfield and Ivan Perisic brings much in the way of experience.

Conte managed to secure a top four finish for Tottenham at the expense of rivals Arsenal last season and now his aim will be to push on even further.

2. Liverpool – 2/1

Liverpool missed out on winning the quadruple last season and had to settle for winning the FA Cup and the League Cup, so they will be especially determined to win the league in 2022/23.

The departure of Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich is a blow, but Klopp will hope new signing Darwin Nunez settles quickly, just like Luis Diaz did last season.

If Liverpool make further additions, especially in midfield, then they certainly have a chance of winning the title.

1. Manchester City – 8/13

Champions in four of the last five seasons, City are unsurprisingly installed as favourites to win the title again.

The addition of Erling Haaland will help their cause, although Sterling and Gabriel Jesus have been linked with moves away. City have the resources to make further signings and they have been linked with a move for Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

It will certainly take something special to stop City from winning the league again.

Arsenal are sixth favourites at odds of 40/1 and interestingly Newcastle, who have plenty of money to spend, are next at odds of 100/1.

Unsurprisingly, the three Premier League new boys – Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest and Fulham – are the least likely to win the title with the bookies.
