Quick Bit: Can Tampa Bay even the series, or will Colorado take a 3-1 series lead back to Denver?

Full Story:

Game 4 action is set to take place tonight between the Lightning and the Avalanche down in Tampa. The Lightning are aiming to keep the momentum going from Game 3, where they downed the Avs 6-2 on Monday.

Tampa Bay received goals from six different players and Andrei Vasilevskiy made 37 stops in their first win of the series. The Avs enter Game 4 with a 2-1 series lead and coming off a particularly poor effort on the defensive side of things.

However, Monday night’s contest is in the past, and Colorado has a chance to split the two-game set in Tampa and head back to Denver up 3-1 in the series if they can pull; together a winning effort tonight.

“We’re still in the driver’s seat,” Avalanche defenseman Erik Johnson said on Tuesday. “We knew coming in here it would be tough to win both. We knew they were going to come with their best game. For us, to get the split, we’d be sitting pretty good. We’d be happy with it.”

For the Lightning, a victory would even the series at two goals a piece, putting the club another step closer to the three-peat.
