The champs answered the bell. Down 2-0 the Lightning got a much-needed 6-2 victory over the Avalanche in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals. With the series now 2-1, the Lightning are just one win away from tying it up at two and putting the pressure on the Avalanche in Game 5.

Andrei Vasilevskiy gave up 11 goals in the first two games of the Finals. In Game 3, he bounced back only allowing two goals and finishing with a .949 save percentage. Is it as simple as Vasilevskiy showing up and Tampa will win? We’ll find out in Game 4.

MORE: Who should the Avalanche start in net for Game 4: Darcy Kuemper or Pavel Francouz?

What helped Vasilevskiy is the Lightning offense exploded in a big way in Game 3 with six goals coming from six different players.

“I guess that’s how you get to the places we’ve been,” Lightning coach Jon Cooper said after the game. “Pretty great effort.”

The effort was stellar, but in the grand scheme of things, it was just one game. The Lightning will need to replicate that effort if they plan on making this a series.

The question is, can they do it?

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of Game 4 of the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals.
