The Lightning showed their championship resilience by battling back and tying the game up in the second period.

A tight-checking third led to an overtime period that saw Andre Burakovsky bury a game-winner just 1:23 into the extra frame to give the Avs the 4-3 win and most importantly the 1-0 series lead.

Andrei Vasilevskiy seemed to settle in after giving up a couple of soft goals to start the series. Game 1s haven’t been kind to Vasilevskiy in 2022, the Lightning netminder has a 3.99 goals against and a .884 save percentage in the first game of the series leading to a 1-3 record. After the subpar Game 1s, Vasilevskiy has posted a 1.90 goals against and a .939 save percentage with an 11-3 record.

It’s safe to say, as the series goes on Vasilevskiy gets stingy. Will he be able to help the Lightning steal one on the road in Game 2?
